Presented with a completely dilapidated building that could not be demolished due to heritage constraints, we designed a home that restores what was left of the original structure complimented by a sympathetic addition that allows for 21st century living. Internally, original weatherboard cladding is retained and celebrated, and the heritage sandstone walls that surround the site are brought into the space through large courtyard facing sliding doors. Clever planning on a constrained site allows for natural light to enter every part of the house.
